Reservations and Cancellation Policy
1. When you make a reservation at La Rectoria de Sant Miquel de Pineda (hereafter referred to as 'La Rectoria') we want to make it clear that you understand what you are agreeing to at the time of making that reservation. Any reservation made by email or by telephone must be confirmed in writing by email. By giving us your credit card details as security of your deposit and reservation you are entering into a legally binding contract and accepting our terms and conditions. If subsequently, you wish to cancel your reservation this must be done in writing by email and no charge will be made unless the cancellation is made 7 days or less prior to your arrival (1 November to 30 June) or 28 days (1 July to 31 October) when you will be charged for the total cost of your reservation.
2. We do not wish to appear harsh in any way with our cancellation policy, but as a small business we cannot expect to bear the risk of others when they choose to cancel at short notice. La Rectoria will charge the full amount of the payment due to your credit card. We therefore strongly advise that you take out travel insurance that covers you for cancellation.
3. Your credit card details are required to confirm your reservation. No charge will be made to the card on confirmation of your reservation. If however you cancel your reservation within 7 days of arrival and should you fail to take up your reservation you will be liable for the value of the total sum of your reservation and this will be charged to the card used to confirm your reservation. We will do everything we can to re-let the room(s) and should this be possible we will refund you for the amount we have recovered for a new booking.
The exception to the 7 day cancellation policy are reservations made in the months of July through to the end of October when a 28 day term applies. These will be clearly marked on the email confirmation we send to you.
Should the need arise to check out early/shorten your stay whilst you are already with us, we reserve the right to charge the full amount applicable to your original reservation.
In the event of a 'no show' the card used as security for the deposit will be debited with the full cost of your reservation. If it is not possible to debit the money from your card a debt recovery process will be pursued.
It is highly recommended that you take out personal travel insurance before travelling, so that you are covered in the event of cancellation, personal accident, medical or legal expenses or other eventualities.
Changes to Reservations
Some cancellations are unavoidable and where possible we may be able to transfer your booking to another date. If you wish to change your booking we will try to accommodate your request subject to availability. In the eventuality that we are unable to accommodate you or should you fail to find a suitable alternative date, you will be liable for any payment as determined by the terms of the cancellation policy.
If you have any special requests, such as dietary requirements, extra beds or room preferences, you must advise us at the time of booking.
Exclusive use of La Rectoria
Reservations for the entire house require a deposit of 25% of the value for each night reserved. Cancellation of such a reservation made less than 28 days prior to arrival will result in the forfeit of the full value of the deposit. This will be reduced on a pro rata basis should the rooms be resold. Cancellations made less than 7 days prior to arrival will be charged the full amount of the reservation, although every attempt will be made to resell any or all of the rooms, so that only the balance of any unsold rooms would be charged.
Whilst every endeavour will be made to secure a specific room requested, La Rectoria reserves the right to alter such reservations as required.
Payment for your accommodation and all extras (dinner, drinks etc.) should be made at check-out. This payment can be made in cash or by credit card (visa or mastercard).
Check-In and Check-Out Times
Rooms are available from 14.00 on the day of arrival. Luggage may be left should you arrive before this time. If your itinerary results in your late arrival, please try to inform us in advance the time at which you expect to arrive. Dinner is served at 20.30, so if you would like dinner on the day of arrival please inform us a day or two in advance.
Check-out is at 11.00 on the day of departure when your account is payable. If bedrooms are not vacated by 13.00 on the day of departure an additional charge will be made by La Rectoria. La Rectoria will always try to offer some flexibility, depending on what other reservations we have on any given day.
Please remember to leave your room key as a 20€ surcharge will be levied to cover the cost of a replacement.
If you inadvertently forget anything and request it to be returned, a surcharge of 20€ will be levied in addition to the cost of the postage.
Animals are not permitted at La Rectoria. Guests arriving with unsolicited animals will be levied a surcharge of 20€ per day to cover the cost of additional cleaning.
Damage and Breakages
We take pride in providing facilities of a high standard and cleanliness. You are responsible for any breakages or damage caused to the accommodation or its contents which might be reasonably perceived as being greater than that due to 'daily use and deterioration'. La Rectoria reserves the right to apply a charge equal to the real value of any item replaced or damage repaired.
Personal Belongings and Liability
La Rectoria does not accept liability for any damage, loss or injury to you or to any member of your party. In addition, La Rectoria accepts no responsibility for theft from your room, car or any of your belongings during your stay.
Smoking is forbidden anywhere within the premises. An ashtray is provided for those wishing to smoke outside. La Rectoria reserves the right to charge any guest for smoking inside the house, as a cost will be incurred for any cleaning required.
When smoking outside, great care should be taken due to the risk of fire.
